PRIVACY POLICY
This Privacy Policy applies to the apps developed by WArrow Interactive (a brand published under Journey Foundation). WArrow Interactive ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Android application, FlashScan: QR & Barcode Reader (the "App"), collects, uses, and protects your information in compliance with the Google Play Developer Program Policies, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and applicable United States Privacy Laws.
1. Device Permissions and Data Processing
FlashScan is designed to process data locally on your device to ensure maximum privacy. We request the following permissions solely to provide core functionalities:
- Camera Permission (
android.permission.CAMERA): Required exclusively for scanning QR codes and barcodes in real-time. We do not record video, take photos in the background, or transmit your camera feed to any external servers. - Storage/Media Access (
READ_MEDIA_IMAGES/ Photo Picker): If you choose to scan a barcode from an image saved on your device, we access only the specific image you select. We do not access, collect, or transmit your broader photo gallery. - Local Storage: Your scan history is saved locally on your Android device's internal storage. We do not upload this data to our servers.
While core scanning is offline, the App integrates third-party SDKs to provide analytics and display advertisements. According to the Google Play Data Safety requirements, we disclose the following:
- Device or Other IDs (Advertising ID): Collected by Google AdMob to serve personalized or non-personalized advertisements.
- App Interactions & Crash Logs: Collected via Google Firebase Analytics to monitor app stability, troubleshoot crashes, and improve the user experience.
- Data Security: Data collected by these third-party SDKs is encrypted in transit using standard HTTPS protocols.
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you have specific privacy rights:
- Legal Basis for Processing: We process your device’s Advertising ID to serve personalized ads only if we have obtained your explicit Consent through our Consent Management Platform (CMP) upon your first app launch.
- User Rights: You have the right to access, rectify, or erase your data, and the right to withdraw your consent at any time.
- How to Withdraw Consent: You can revoke or modify your ad consent at any time by navigating to the App's Settings > Privacy > Ad Consent (or via your device's global ad settings). Once revoked, you will only see non-personalized ads.
If you are a resident of California or other applicable US states, you have specific rights regarding your personal information:
- "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information": We do not "sell" your data in the traditional sense. However, sharing your Advertising ID with Google AdMob for targeted advertising may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" under the CPRA.
- You can opt-out of this sharing by clicking the "Do Not Sell My Personal Information" link within our App's consent dialog or by enabling the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal on your device.
- We do not discriminate against users who exercise their privacy rights.
Our App is a general-utility tool and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. We have configured our advertising networks (Google AdMob) to not serve personalized ads to children. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that their child has provided us with information without their consent, please contact us immediately.

FlashScan decodes URLs embedded in QR codes. We do not control the destination of these URLs. We urge you to verify the decoded link before opening it in your web browser.
